| I guess a citizen of any country cannot really get angry at
their leader for plunging their homeland into a state of war. In all honesty
leaders of nations send their countries off to war all of the time, and
sometimes it is actually for the greater good of the nation in question, or
even they nation they plan to attack. Although, a citizen of a country can get
angry, and has valid reason to protest when their leader sends their country
off to war on the basis of a lie, on fabricated fears and gigantic miscalculations.
When a leader starts a conflict with a foreign nation for their own financial
and political gain, and to help mat the pockets of their corporate allies a
citizen has not just the right but also the duty to protest this action. It was
these types of atrocities, and tyrannical actions that led to the American
Revolution so many years ago. George W. Bush and his entire administration have
done just that, they have taken America
to war on a variety of lies, and for their own personal and political benefit.
They have allowed for the deaths of over three thousand American soldiers, and
over one hundred thousand Iraqi civilians in the pursuit of their own mindless
ideals, and they hide these ideals by saying that they are spreading freedom
throughout the world.
On his inauguration day George W. Bush delivered a speech
that was filled to the brim with biblical references and rhetoric. He tried to
look like a man that spoke directly to god and was answering a call from the
Father himself to set the many oppressed nations of the world free. My
suggestion to Mr. Bush is that if he is so keen on setting oppressed nations
free he starts right on home soil, here in the United
States. The U.S. Patriotic Act signed into
law by Mr. Bush restricts many of the freedoms we as Americans once had. It has
allowed different branches to U.S.
government to tap phone calls, emails, and more all without notifying the
person in question that they are doing it. While our government says that this
is used for the prevention of terrorist attacks, it is being used as a tool
against the American people.
As Bush delivered that speech he was also spending over
fifty million dollars on ceremonies for his inauguration. His tailored suits
and his wife Laura’s gowns alone could have put armor on hundreds of vehicles
and U.S.
troops, and while the theme of the inauguration was to honor those who serve,
they thought it more important that the president and Washington
socialite’s party then U.S.
troops be properly equipped. When asked my MSNBC why these millions of dollars
were not being used to equip U.S.
troops a Bush Inauguration official has the nerve to say – “We feel it
important to celebrate the troop’s fine work that is why we are honoring them
with this theme.” I would not think any less of any American solider if after
hearing that they laid down their weapon and refused to fire one more shot for
George W. Bush. In fact I would respect that action much more then mindlessly
following the orders given by a corrupt neo-conservative madman.
Fifty million for the grandest party ever held. Fifty
million when over one hundred thousand Asian citizens desperately need
vaccinations to combat post tsunami illnesses. Fifty million when American
soldiers need equipment, American citizens need health care, and our economy is
in near ruin. All I can say to that action is how dare you Mr. Bush – HOW DARE
YOU! George W. Bush who claims he knows Jesus the Christ so well forgets so
many of Jesus’ most important teachings. He forgets that Jesus advised that a
man sell everything he owns and gives the money he makes to the poor. He
forgets that Jesus said if someone strikes you on one cheek that you turn the
other to them. He forgets that Jesus supported peace and love, was humble and
generous, and opposed killing and murder. The man Mr. Bush claims that he takes
after was in fact nothing like George W. Bush, he was in reality everything
that Bush is not. He stood for honesty and morals, compassion and freedom,
concepts that George W. Bush is too meek and corrupt to even fathom. Bush who
stood during his inauguration speech talking about liberty and freedom, just
years earlier made the comment – “There should be limitations to freedom.”
Those are the words of a dictator not a president; a madman not a follower of
Christ.
Even Bush’s friends and associates leave a lot to be desired
as far as morals are concerned. For a man like Bush, who spends over thirty
percent of his time on vacation at his ranch in Austin,
Texas it seems odd that he cannot find the
time to attend at least one funeral for one of the soldiers he recklessly threw
into harms way. Odd, that for Donald Rumsfeld who seems to have plenty of spare
time for the things he desires cannot take the time to sign the death notices
sent to families of killed U.S.
soldiers from Iraq,
and must have a machine that screens in his signature. I guess hearing about
the death of a young person – a death an order you signed caused is a downer
when you are President of the world’s last super power. I guess the fine wine,
champagne, and prepared food does not taste quite as good after hearing about
someone who’s live you stole by waging a war on false pretences. Then again a
recovering alcoholic should not be drinking wine or champagne anyway…
Things though instead of getting better, seem only to be
getting worse. Recently the Michigan State Police issued a video to Americans
telling them how to spot a terrorist using seven signs. Some of those signs
were everyday events that take place in nearly anyone’s life – using
binoculars, reading and taking notes, visiting a public place, looking
suspicious. I would like to know how someone “looks suspicious.” I guess if
they are any other color than white in Bush’s terms they are out of the
ordinary. If you follow this video as a guide every student, minority, and avid
bird watcher or reader becomes an international terrorist. Scary.
What worries me most is that there are actually Americans
who are in support of George W. Bush and his administration. There are American
citizens, and immigrants alike that feel the war in Iraq is necessary, and as
long as they are not the ones asked to do the fighting don’t mind seeing thirty
or more Americans killed daily. Although the most heart breaking of all is the
fact that there are still American citizens that believe Saddam Hussein was
linked with Al-Queda and September 11th
2001. This must be a real feather in the cap of Bush and Cheney
when it comes to distorting the public, to actually plant false information in
some one’s head using mass media brain wash.
Bush lied to those who lost family members on September 11th.
He lied to the people of Afghanistan
when he claimed to be liberating them. He misled the country into a reckless
war, and he sent a complete and utter asshole (Donald Rumsfeld) with no respect
for human life to manage it. Without a doubt Bush is by far the worst President
in the history of this country. In the words of Pittsburgh,
PA based band Anti-Flag (http://www.antiflag.com) A TURNCOAT,
KILLER, and THIEF. He stole his way into the white house in 2000, and again in
2004. For now those of us who are aware of the Bush conspiracies and wrong
doings must digest another four year term. We watch as the GOP bashes political
heroes like Barbara Boxer for speaking out against insane money driven
politicians like Condoleezza Rice.
Sad it is, frustrating and scary.

I’m sorry America.
Sorry that your people are too brainwashed, and made fearful by a mad and
religious neo-conservative dictator that they wont even relinquish themselves
from his grasp. Sorry, that I as a democrat felt so strongly that John Kerry
would win this election that I may have not done all possible to guarantee his
victory. Sorry that your children will continue to be needlessly and recklessly
sent off to war in Iraq,
and other countries, and not be given proper food, medical attention, or safety
equipment as they fight. Sorry that our people will continue to be lied to and
mislead about the events of September
11th 2001, and that we may never know just how involved
our own government was. Sorry that our children will be lead under the rule of
the Bible, a document over 2,000 years old that is an unjustifiable standard
for modern humans to live by. I am sorry that dehabilitating diseases like
Alzheimer’s, and the inability to walk or move will not be cured since stem
cell research will be outlawed. I am also sorry gay men and woman will not be
allowed to marry, and be considered flukes of nature and unholy parasites under
this administration. I am sorry that for the next four years your people will
live under a created network of fear, started and maintained by its own
leaders. God bless you America,
and I am truly sorry.
Well America
has her new president, elected by the people, and while I totally disagree with
their choice it appears the majority of this country is satisfied with the
leadership of George W. Bush. For over one month I have been informing America
about the atrocities that have taken place under the leadership of President
Bush, and honestly I thought for certain John Kerry would be the victor is this
election. He seemed to have garnished at least some support from every sector
of America, the
working class, big business, the young people, minorities, etc. etc. America
though has obviously given into the fear driven hype machine created by the
Republicans, and for that us, the young people of this country will be paying
likely for years when Bush and his team re-enact Conscription, and we are being
asked to march off to war, and knowing Bush it will be another needless war.
We have
some great new conservative senators to go along with our President’s
re-election. Neo-cons from Oklahoma
believe that if you are gay you should never get a job teaching in America’s
schools. Also if you are a single woman, living with your boyfriend that
opportunity to teach should be taken from you as well. Some of our great new
senators believe that doctors who perform abortions should be sentenced to
death, and that lesbianism is running ram bit throughout the U.S. Awesome
choices American, great work.
So what
went wrong for our candidate John Kerry. It seemed early on that he would
become the clear victor, though late in the race he lost steam and with it
electoral votes. First I think Kerry’s wife Teresa Heinz Kerry worked against
him. While we democrats know Teresa has done some tremendous humanitarian work,
the conservatives thought she had a big mouth, and made the rest of American
feel the same way. John Edwards, Kerry’s running mate showed he was a rather
ineffective and apathetic Vice Presidential candidate and worked to Kerry’s
downfall as well. All in all the voters who Kerry needed, minority and young
didn’t show up in the required numbers. A shame!
Well America
you have gotten your four more years, for better or for worse. For more years
of hating anyone who is gay, a minority, or a woman, four more years of putting
our soldiers through hell, and four more years of lies and deceit. My hope is
that Bush will get some wind in his sail the second time around, though from
where I sit the ocean and skies seem pretty calm with no wind in sight. I just
don’t want to hear one complaint from any Republican about war, health care,
the economy, lies, and more and more of what Bush will likely do to this
country. You guys wanted him, now you have him … unleashed!!
Peace.
